Summary Overview
Standard & Poor’s 500 (S&P 500) Index rose 12.15% during the quarter, and it was up 18.40% over the past twelve months.
MSCI All Country World ex-US Index (international stocks) increased more than U.S. stocks in the 4th quarter, with the index up 14.79%. The index rose 16.82% over the past twelve months.
MSCI Emerging Markets Equities Index was up 19.70% for the quarter and 18.31% over the past twelve months.
Bloomberg Barclays U.S. Aggregate Bond Index underperformed stocks by rising 0.67% during the quarter. The index rose 7.51% over the past twelve months.
Bloomberg Barclays 1-3 Year Government Bond Index rose 0.21% in the quarter and 3.33% over the past twelve months.
Rogers International Commodities Index increased by 14.49% for the quarter and was down 7.69% over the past twelve months.
Gold underperformed the broad commodity markets for the quarter, rising only 0.04%. However, over the last 12 months, it continued to outperform stocks, bonds, and commodities, up 24.61%.
