The mission of the Association of African American Financial Advisors (AAAA) includes developing and fostering professional relationships among minority professionals working in the financial services industry.
Appleton, WI – September 17, 2018 – iSectors,® LLC, a manager of a suite of exchange-traded fund ETF asset allocation models, is proud to announce that iSectors’ Chief Investment Officer Charles (Chuck) Self has been honored by the Association of African American Financial Advisors with the 2018 Leadership Legacy Award.
The Association of African American Financial Advisors (also known as AAAA or Quad A) is the leadership and advocacy organization connecting African-Americans who provide, support, and benefit from professional financial planning. The lack of financial literacy plagues African American communities throughout the United States. Financial illiteracy is not just an African American issue; it is an American issue. AAAA members demonstrate and support a professional commitment to eradicating financial illiteracy via educational initiatives and a client-centered financial planning process.
“Our Legacy Award recognizes AAAA members like Chuck Self who have guided our organization to exceptional heights over the last 17 years. Serving as a board member from 2015 to 2017, Chuck has been instrumental in guiding our annual conference committee. I must say that we would not have seen this conference’s attendance grow as much as we have if not for Chuck’s insight and networking to encourage conference sponsors to partner with us.” says Gerald Loftin, J.D., CFP® and AAAA President. “We saw a record number of attendees at our 4th annual conference in Atlanta this month (September), where we surprised Chuck with his Award.”
“I am thrilled and honored to receive the Association of African American Financial Advisors 2018 Leadership Legacy Award,” noted Chuck Self. “As the third honoree in the history of AAAA, this award has special meaning to me. When I started in this business in 1981, the number of African American financial advisors was very small. We now have over 1600 members of our social media groups and I commit to doing whatever necessary to support them and increase our numbers in the coming years.”
Founded in 2001 by LeCount R. Davis, Sr. CFP®, AAAA’s mission includes developing and fostering professional relationships among African American and other minority professionals working in the financial services industry. The organization strives to continuously expose its members to cutting edge trends and opportunities which will assist them in advancing their businesses and careers. Davis earned the Certified Financial Planning designation granted by the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado, becoming the first African American so designated.
